I was having the same problem, then I discovered a work-around.

 

Try this:

Try to sign in on HBOGo as normal. When you are redirected, sign in with your account on the Xfinity website. Keep the Xfinity page open and open a new tab. Using the new tab, sign in to HBOGo as normal.

 

It would seem that as long as your browser is actively signed into the Xfinity webpage in one tab, HBOGo will recognize that you are already signed in. Hope that works for you.

I just tried that, didn’t make any difference.  It still quits the app and dumps be back to the Roku home screen whenever I try to watch anything.

I apologize for the delayed reply. Thank you for reaching out again to let us know you are still receiving this error when trying to watch episode 16 of The Challenge: Final Reckoning. I tried duplicating the issue using my phone and didn't get the error. I want to help isolate the cause of this. You mentioned you are using a browser.

  1. What type of device are you using? 
  2. Are you able to download the app on your device? If so, do you get the same error?

what is the roku device? (TV? stick?) model number?

I am having the same problem described by others on this thread.  The problem (see quotes below) began Sat. 10/27; disappeared for a few hours Monday 10/29 and then returned.  Please advise.  Thank you!

It does the same thing of both my Roku stick model 3800XB and my TCL 49S405 Roku TV.

The roku stick is running 8.1.0. 

 

The TCL Roku TV was working fine for almost 2 months, now neither the TV or the stick work and they fail the exact same way.

Hi, matthewjreilly. Thanks for posting. I imagine that your regular wireless internet connection is fully functional at this time on other devices, is that correct? I know you said it suddenly happened, but just to confirm - is there anything specific that may have been changed/modified/moved around at your premise recently that could have caused this? It's odd they both stopped at the same time.

ditto for me right around labor day.....there's something they are keeping secret. differenct browsers do the same thing.  I HATE COMCAST

Nothing changed in the network. I was able to watch the entire world series using both devices and how the app just quits whenever I try to access any content.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? WHAT IS MY PROBLEM YOU SAY?  LOOK AT SUBJECT....ITS NOT BROWSERS.  EVERY BODY IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS WHAT IS COMCAST KEEPING SECRET?

MAYBE WEWILL JUST SWITCH TO OTHER COMPANY SINCE WE ARE 'NOT CHARGED FOR STREAMING'.

Got it. Can you please sign out of the application on both devices and then delete the app on the 3800 only (we're going to work on/address that device first) re-download it, sign back in (in that order) and then reattempt streaming content? If you can let me know what happens afterward either way, that would be great.
