since you posted in the streaming website area you are using a desk/laptop, right? does the same program played back on another PC or smart device have the same issue? also, does the recorded show play back properly on the home X1 equipment?

is there a text message too? for example DRM error? are you using a windows PC or an apple PC or a Chromebook?

Well this certainly isn't encouraging. This problem began in April/May 2017 and here it is July, 2018 and I have been having the problem for the past couple of months. May be time to cancel Xfinity.

are you connected to your home Xfinity wifi (not the xfinitywifi SSID)? does your modem/gateway's numbers match the numbers shown for your equipment modem at https://secure.xfinity.com/profile/#devices

XBox, Roku, PS4, all work - Comcast appears to be intentionally blocking the use of Android TV devices. This has been going on for at least 1 year, maybe 2 years at this point.

in searching the forum (top of page) it appears that the last answer I can find was in 2016 where an Official Employee replied that there are no plans to allow use of HBOgo subscriptions on android TVs.

I hate to say it this way, , but you and your company are full of it.

 

These days, the browsers handle all that.  Linux runs stock Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.  All three browsers use either HTML5 or Flash to do this.  It's not an OS thing, at least not anymore.

 

I can log into any channel WWW site (ESPN, TNT, USA, etc.) using my Xfinity credentials and watch their streams on my Linux desktop.  I can also use Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime video.  These are all large media businesses like yours, and if they were that concerned Linux's support of DRM, they would shut it off as well.  So I'm just not buying it.

 

Join the 21st century!  Please support Linux!

Well that was also one of my objection to their new website. I mean they used flash which is well known for serious security issues. Why design and implement a new website using unsafe technology that has pretty much reached eol. I forget when the last security patch is scheduled (2019?) but they really should have used html5 or something else. Anyway maybe they are working on a more modern technology that will support linux and at least alternative like amazon work fine with linux for streaming.

TVAPP-00203 is one error I get, also got a ftde.xact.3370.1000937 code when using brave.  Both hint that I need to allow protected content to my browser, but I get the impression there is an authentication issue with my account that I sign in with. 


this forum area is for discussing streaming website. for using the smart device (android) there is a stream TV app area.  what is your operating system on your PC? what version of chrome are you using. do you get to a menu (successful login/activation)?

Last night I started getting the best reception I have ever had  on Fox news. Received a call from Comcast today asking if things are better. I hope it  stays that way

   Hi,  I am new to Xfinity TV service but a big draw to me making the switch we being able to stream my TV to my computers.   I tried watching serveral programs this weekend and the picture quality was very poor.  It was definately watchable but it did not look like HD content in most cases.  I was watching HD live streams as well as things I have recorded on my DVR.  I have gigspeed internet and I am running a modern computer with a discrete graphics card so that should not be an issue.   I also was not able to get Dolby Digial sound from the the streaming portal also When I was streaming Netflix or Amazon the quality looked great so I do not think I have an issue with my setup. .   

 

    I called Comcast Tech support and they kept telling me to go to the Google App store or the Apple App store and download the app.   I kept trying to explain to them I was using Windows 10 PC so that was not an option but I could not make her understand.  I kept asking her to elevate me to l2 or l3 but that was useless so I gave up.  She ended the conversation with telling me to go to Xfinity.com/app and download the app for my computer.      

 

Does someone know what quality the X1 Portal can stream and what audio formats it will support? I assume this might be somewhat limited with Comcast using Flash as their player.

I am getting a never ending loop of this error message when I try to stream from my computer.  I spent a good amount of time on the phone this morning with Xfinity and the issue is still not resolved.

I have tried multiple browsers. Not fixed yet

I have the same issue and have no idea where to turn as well.  Seems to be far beyond what phone support can solve for you over the telephone.  From what I can gather it seems to be an issue with multiple xfinity/comcast accounts and them getting confused on xfinity's back end.  

 

When I log into my xfinity account and hit the pull down under the account number, I can see four accounts that I've apparently had at one time or another.  I once had a number of active ones all linked there.  Now all but one of them is supposedly inactive.  You can see what I am talking about on the attached screen-shot

 

I don't know how to unwind the mess.

please see this LINK for best answer. it has to do with having at least 2 active accounts. From the reading it appears that a comcast employee can assist.  I have escalated your issue to the Comcast Team available to these forums. Check back often for a reply in this thread from a Comcast Official Employee.

not sure why the android TV won't support it, but did you try using another attached device like a DVD player's HBO app?
