Hi,  My wife is having an issue where she cannot play any tv shows through on-demand or any other way. She is using Firefox, it's updated, and 8.1. This is what happens: choose a program to watch, click, login to Xfinity, get a message to enable Adobe Flash, enable and allow flash, then nothing happens. Are any suggestions available?    Thanks

use fully updated Chrome browser. It has built in flash provided by chrome. working?

Thanks for your time and attention to this matter.

look at the bottom of your newly installed modem/gateway. write down the HFC MAC address or take a picture of it with a smart device. call 800-Comcast and select billing. ask the agent to verify/change the serial number of your gateway modem to match your account. fixed?

also, what is the name (format) of the SSID to which your devices are connected? Comcast provided modems can have the hotspot 'xfinitywifi' turned on but using that SSID will give the error 'not on own home wifi' type message.

Why is my Xfinity Stream data counting towards my data cap?

I am extremely frustrated right now. When signing up for the Xfinity Internet TV package, I was told multiple times that data streamed through the Xfinity Stream app did not county towards my data cap. Three weeks later and I have skyrocketed through my typical data usage and will end the month with roughly 300gb more usage than normal.

What is going on here? Has anyone else had this issue? How can I tell the difference between Xfinity Stream data and all other data? I have spent hours talking to technical support and continue to be given the runaround about our data usage.

Where can I got to see what data is through the app compared to what data is outside the app? The fact that there appears to be no way to fight these overages in outrageous.

(To be clear, I am using the Xfinity Stream app on my home wifi. Not anywhere else.)

Very disappointing, they call me and tell me my plan is expiring and I have to get a different internet plan and then tell me I have xfinity stream, I tell them I use Apple TV and she tells me that is fine that will work and that’s the furthest thing from the truth

to see the counter during the month use the xfinity my account app and touch the internet tab. the local router will see/count the traffic. the use of tvgo channels and tvgo versions of on-demand will count toward your 1 TB CAP.  I did a test and left my roku 'on' a numbered channel for days and the measured traffic on the my account app did not change at all.

Roku recordings no sound

Recently Comcast installed a new underground cable to my house because the neighbor cut up the old one and it had to be spliced. Ever since the splicing, even after the new cable was installed, my recordings through my roku app have no sound. The regular box dvr recordings are fine and the on demand on the roku app is fine. Only Mr roku app recordings don't have sound. Any idea why?

I'm trying to watch NCAA via xfinity stream on my phone, I get an error message that says 'Connect to  in-home WiFi to watch.

I've no idea what that means. I have a mesh WiFi router and access points connected to a switch which is connected to the cable modem. I am connected to my home WiFi.

What do I need to do to be able to watch?

check your router's HFC MAC address and compare it to the 'serial number' shown on the my account app internet tab, after you select the modem/equipment. do they match exactly?

I'm highly upset that I'm paying $300+ each month for "all access" TV options just to find out that I have to pay $2.99/episode just to catch up on my shows! It's absolutely ridiculous that you, Xfinity, are charging customers these prices. My family has been with Comcast since the beginnig and now we're most likely going to change providers because you're monopolizing TV. I suffer from multiple diseases which often force me to be on bed rest or in the hospital and I like to stream shows and movies to disract the pain and to help with boredom but now I can't do that. I can't catch up on my favorite shows anymore because either you all have deleted half of the episodes i.e. Grey's Anatomy or you have started charging to watch past episodes and seasons i.e. Chicago Med, Code Black etc.

Get your stuff together Xfinity or you're going to lose even more customers to online streaming services!

Let see how long my post will stay before an expert deletes it... Does not surprise me that Comcast employees are not all on the same page. I to was misled to believe from a Comcast rep I can save money and not renting their boxes to Simply use their Stream app. Selling me their product for me to agree to commit to a contract. Even though I ask the appropriate questions. Seems I was giving exactly what I wanted to hear. 7 months into my contract and reading a lot on these forms and elsewhere Comcast seems to be dragging their feet they will partnership with more companies or have no intentions to do so. Keeping themselves very very limited and tight ship. Other than promoting Roku and some Samsung and Sony smart Tv models. Wasnt long ago their Stream app use to work on any media streaming device. Long as you were a Comcast customer. Comcast without notice stopped this feature and limited how their Stream app will work. But Jan 2019 rates went up across the board. While other providers do not limit their paying customers using streaming capabilities over the internet. Been a customer for more than 30 years and I see they do not appreciate any loyalty to long term customers. In my opinion this is not the way to do business. SAD...

Hi WillSwigart. Thank you for visiting and posting on our Forum. I can help further troubleshoot your Xfinity Stream WiFi error. Aside from Rustybens suggestion of checking the MAC addresses, have you tried to reboot your modem and power cycle the switch and router, and retest? Please try if you haven't and I would be happy to assist.

Thanks for the response.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but essentially watching live TV and recorded TV does not count towards the cap, but anything on-demand is going to count?

There should really be a much clearer breakdown of this app somewhere.
