Thanks for everyone's patience with these constant frustrations...
Joe does indeed still work here on our team. This post was intended to provide him the capability of working with the various Ad teams and providers by handing off the great information everyone has graciously provided.
It was never intended to have him respond to every person who posted. That being said, this is an unacceptable customer experience and each and every one of these has been acknowledged. The challenges are that by the time we get your data that ad may be out of rotation already. In most cases, this is not about your computer or network connection.
What are we doing now?
We have an open Problem ticket trying to assess how to correct this experience. Some of you have already posted that going direct to the provider's site helps, others say they see similar problems. Unfortunately we can't control the number of commercials and CBS as well as TNT for example should be showing the same exact commercials we are given.
We have plenty of documented issues to work with and my commitment to you is that we will post a weekly update of where we are with this investigation.
What should you continue to post here?
If you find a specific ad is causing the player to crash, overlaps the screen, or causes consistent issues please let us know about that right away by providing the details Joe already outlined (time the ad/issue happened, URL of the video you were watching, computer info such as browser and OS).
Thanks for your continued patience and help with this issue.
Updates to follow,
Matt
